This one day training course is for professionals already working with teenage children and families offering counselling, therapy or therapeutic support.
Navigating through the teenage years can be a very stressful and challenging time for the teenager and adults alike. The adults involved with the teenager are often faced with behaviours and responses that they can’t make sense of and are at a loss of how to implement interventions or offer support that will help rather than exasperate the situation.
The teenage years are a time of major re-structures in the brains development, essentially the teen has got the workmen in and normal functioning is off line. Teens and parents are presented with even more challenges if the teen has a history of disrupted attachments and early trauma.
This training provides the opportunity to understand what is happening inside the teenage brain at this time of re-structure, how the teen is perceiving and responding to the challenges of this phase of development and your role in supporting that.

The cost for the full course is £80 plus VAT(20%) per candidate which includes all course materials. Refreshments are provided throughout the day however candidates will need to provide their own lunch.
